After a year in the planning The Junier Club, Falmouths only dedicated gin shop has launched their own artisan gin called ‘Black Rock’. This craft gin is ideal for mixing with lemon and Navas tonic. Even a none gin drinker like myself found the tipple a most pleasant libation.
The product is encapusalted within an earthenware bottle which has a laser etched label cut directly into the surface of the bottle, with ink then rubbed into the resultant lines to accentuate them.
Aawen was approached to design this illustrative identity which has a central depiction of Black Rock within the main textual elements, all framed by a drawing of the entrance to the Carrick Roads. The identity describes the very local nature of the product and gives it an artisan appeal. The bottle lends itself to be used as a decorative piece long after the gin is finished. Although a nice environmentally aware touch is you will be able to refill your original bottle up at the shop, for a reduce cost, in order to lessen packaging waste.
The description on the rear of the bottle will be altered for each successive batch of 300 bottles, taking in the many thrilling legends and stories which surround Falmouth’s most iconic nautical navigation marker.
To go with the new bottle their is a host of other branded merchandise such as bags, hip flasks and t-shirts.
Black Rock Gin is now available to purchase exclusively from the Juniper Club store in Falmouth or online at their website.
